About Library

Objectives

‘Digital Technologies’ have transformed the future of academic libraries, creating new challenges as well as opportunities. Internet and web technologies have brought dramatic changes in the nature and functioning of the libraries. Increasing trends in using digital information resources are growing rapidly, allowing multiple users to access information simultaneously. The changing information landscape and technology have shifted users' priorities in information-seeking patterns.

The demand for ‘information in digital form’ has increased tremendously, requiring all academic libraries to transform to meet patrons' evolving needs. Considering the changing nature of the teaching-learning process, academic libraries must play multiple roles as ‘Learning Resource Centers.’ Libraries must also develop various soft skills to manage technological changes and meet user expectations effectively.

  • To be an instrument in the institution's teaching-learning process.
  • To develop self-learning as well as group learning in students.
  • To provide continuous access to information and knowledge.
  • To encourage both advanced learners and below-average students.
  • To provide a platform for effective teaching and learning using available resources.
  • To support ‘Digital Transformation’ by providing ICT-based services to our patrons.
